Flatten is a sound project based in Montevideo, founded in 2009 by Martin Craciun (www.mcraciun.art) and Cooptrol. The duo explores the physical and mental forces inside sound and music, working on live performances which aim for form defining content. They consider their performances as sound and motion installations which examine the physical properties of sound. Their work includes digital and analog tools used to configure a sonic discourse about techno deconstruction within the perceptive borders between noise and music. They have presented their work in music festivals, museums, galleries, clubs and theaters in many art and culture related events. Flatten has collaborated with expanded cinema artist Stefano Canapa, designed a quadraphonic system, and a software for light automation. Experimental, minimal, electronic music, made of drones, pure tones and techno spirit.
